For Teachers of the Blind/Visually Impaired

Providing resources and support to teachers of the blind or low vision is essential in ensuring that they have the tools, knowledge, and guidance needed to effectively educate their students. This support can include access to specialized teaching materials such as Braille books, tactile learning aids, and adaptive technologies like screen readers or electronic magnifiers. Professional development opportunities, such as workshops or training sessions on new techniques and assistive technologies, are also vital in helping these educators stay up-to-date with best practices. Additionally, offering emotional and collaborative support through mentoring and peer networks fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility, helping teachers navigate challenges and develop strategies for creating inclusive and accessible learning environments.

The PASS Project seeks to ensure that Indiana Teachers of the Blind/Visually impaired have the resources and supports needed to effectively educate their students. The Project does this by providing professional development opportunities,  information on specialized teaching materials and where to find them, and opportunities to participate in peer networks and mentoring.
